Linux Origin

Many people know how Windows Operating System started, and the people behind it. But not Linux. Let me give you a short overview on how Linux Systems came about.I

n 1991, a college student named Linus Torvalds developed a UNIX-like operating system that would later pose a formidable challenge to thw Windows Operating System. He called it Linux. It ran primarily on x86 based PC’s, and ran well even on slow 386 with 4mb of RAM and a 40mb hard disk space.

Since then it was greatly adopted by other programmers on the internet, and soon became the fastest growing version of UNIX. Even computer enthusiasts opted to using the operating system because it was free and open source. Nowadays, Linux and Unix systems continue to develop with the help of  open source programmers all over the world.
