Rock Music

What do you know about the history of Rock Music? My grand dad told me that rock music is actually a child of ‘rhythm and blues’ and also of jazz. Actually, he is right. The basic of rhythms of rock and roll were already present in primitive jazz, and they reappear in ‘boogie’. Despite the growing popularity of other genres nowadays, Rock music still stands out, because it embodies all the sounds, the colors, the anxieties, the frenetic rhythms, and rush of life in the big cities.

When was the birth of rock music, would you know? I bet your old folks does. Actually, it started in the year 1950, whereelse but in the United States of America. During those years, some artist known as Fats Domino made it big in New Orleans. Interesting name eh? My grand dad said he was called that because the guy was literally fat, but was  a very pleasant  person and such a talented black musician. Many other rockers were born, but the king of ‘rock and roll’ title was given to Elvis Presley. My grand dad said awhole lot of other rock musicians were definitely much better than him, but he became king of rock. Why? He’s grown popular because of his looks and his fashion statement and was greatly admired by a lot of women all over the world. In short, Women made him “king”. :P
