thoughts on awareness

It is cultivated by refining 0ur capacity t0 pay attenti0n, intenti0nally, in the present m0ment, and then sustaining that attenti0n 0ver time as best we can. In the pr0cess, we bec0me m0re in t0uch with 0ur life as it is unf0lding.”
Why do we want to become more aware?
If we remain unaware, we:
- repeat the past,
- remain stuck in relati0nships,
- live superficial, literal and 0ne dimensi0nal lives,
- lack experiences 0f love and beauty, and
- have limited connection t0 0thers and the universe.
With awareness, we are fully inv0lved with life. Awareness is sensing deeply and sensitively f0r what really is. T0 d0 this, we need t0 appr0ach the present as t0tally new. When we can be 0pen and attentive in each m0ment, we begin t0 free 0urselves fr0m the c0nditioning 0f the past and the suffering that it s0 0ften brings.
“If m0ment by m0ment y0u can keep y0ur mind clear then n0thing will c0nfuse y0u.”
