Frustration is the earliest known cause for destructive and aggressive behavior in children. When the child is unable to get what he wants, he resorts to aggression. This is either to remove the obstacles along his path or to find something to do that could help him vent his anger. Let’s say for example, a child sees a toy in a shop’s display window, he would then ask either the mom or dad for it. When they tell him that he cannot have it because it’s expensive or for other reasons, the child may start having tantrums, would choose not to leave the place, or worse fight back and hit either the mom or dad when told to follow them or stop misbehaving. And that is due to becoming really frustrated because of not getting the toy that he wanted to have.
Destructive behavior is apt to be repeated if the cause of frustration is not removed or if the reward or punishment the child received as a consequence of his behavior is not appropriate. If the child’s destructive behavior gained him attention or approval, it will most likely be repeated.
Children do not usually intend to hurt. Parents should always ask themselves whether the child understands what he is saying or doing before undertaking corrective measures. The child should be taught positive ways of releasing emotions. Teach him to be calm when angry; to dance and sing whenever he is sad; to hum a tune when he is scared; and to count one to ten, think of what he has, or think of happy thoughts when he starts feeling frustrated.
Ask the child if he understands the implications of harsh words. Is he aware that tehse may hurt someone he does not wish to harm or annoy. As parents it is our duty to shape our kids to be better individuals, and we start correcting them and teaching them the right thing to do while they are young. My son has been a very good boy so far, and has not been misbehaving. Although as a parent I feel that it my responsibilty to observe and to read as much helpful information that could prevent my kid from becoming a misbehaving child. But, for those who have toddlers and young children, try to check on them and determine whether the cause of their bad behavior is due to frustration or not.

Father and Son
Many unmarried couples in the Philippines who start having children are in a dilemma when it comes to whether their sons or daughters will carry the father’s surname or the mothers. Usually, illegitimate kids carry their mother’s surnames even if the couple are still together. I am in the same situation. Due to some reason, Liv and I are not yet married although we are planning to officially become a couple next year. But, in our case, my son uses my surname although Liv and I are not married yet. The Article 176 of the Family code of the Philippines that states “illegitimate children should carry their mother’s surname and not their father’s“, was written to give protection to single parents and to give the women automatic custody of the child. But this Republic Act has already been modified through the Republic Act (RA) 9255.

Rock Music
What do you know about the history of Rock Music? My grand dad told me that rock music is actually a child of ‘rhythm and blues’ and also of jazz. Actually, he is right. The basic of rhythms of rock and roll were already present in primitive jazz, and they reappear in ‘boogie’. Despite the growing popularity of other genres nowadays, Rock music still stands out, because it embodies all the sounds, the colors, the anxieties, the frenetic rhythms, and rush of life in the big cities.

A baby praying
My son Ollie will be one year old next month, he hardly talks clearly yet, but I think that’s understandable. He’s very active and quick in learning. My son is very independent and he is not afraid of trying new things. He hardly has tantrums and we don’t have problems feeding him either. Right now, he’s on the process of trying to stand up and walk on his own without any help from us. He can utter a few words already but most are still babyish, we want him to learn the right words, so we don’t do gibberish baby talk. What we do instead is speak to him clearly, associated with actions and some pictures.

Hugs for Health
Before I start this, let me shower you all with Hugs Hugs Hugs HUGs :)

HUGS
A hug is the most comforting gesture one can do for another person, most especially if one is feeling so down. For some reason, there seems to be some kind of power to lift up one’s spirit and self-esteem just with a simple hug. Ongoing research studies indicates that people who are being shown affection are less likely to get sick, feel sick, or see a doctor in their entire lifetime. People who are shown affection have more zest for life, love for work, less likely to get burned out, and feel that their existence is more meaningful.

How to tell if your kid is Anemic

How to tell if your kid is anemic?
It is quite alarming that there is a current rate of 30 percent Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) among our little preschooler whose age range is from 2 to 5 years, and 57 percent among infants. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is caused by low iron and vitamin C in the diet.
Symptoms usually include paleness of the skin, inner lower lip, nail beds, palm, and the inner mucus membrane lining the inner surface of the eyelid. If you noticed during check-up, doctors usually examine the eyes of either kids or adult.

Asthma and Pneumonia Confusion
My younger brother who has been asthmatic since we were kids was diagnosed to have Pneumonia. just a week ago. My mom was in a dilemma about how to differentiate asthma from pneumonia because my brother only had signs and symptoms of the usual asthmatic person. Whenever he gets exposed to various substances like dust, perfumes, powder, and other stuff with strong odors, he would get an asthma attack. He’s been hospitalized a few times before due to his condition. He usually has the usual spray and tablets that are used for asthma medication, that was prescribed by the physician before. But during his last check-up, the doctor said that he has developed pneumonia.
The difference between Asthma and Pneumonia
Here’s what the doctor had to say: Both asthma and pneumonia are diseases that affect the lungs. Asthma however involves inflammation, while pneumonia is an infection.

Understanding Scoliosis

scoliosis
Liv went to the doctor yesterday to have her check-up. She’s pretty healthy in all other aspects except for one thing, she has scoliosis and it developed for the past few years. She’s been through an ongoing series of therapy sessions already, her condition does not seem to get any better, but at least it eases the back pains that she’s suffering from due to scoliosis. Even if one is not a doctor, you can tell if it’s scoliosis because of the obvious difference from a normal spine’s form.

So what in the world is house, trance and techno music?

House music grew when certain DJs in the 80s became bored with standard disco music and altered the sound to make it less pop-oriented by making the beat more mechanical and the bass grooves deeper. The new sound became popular with the underground clubs in Chicago, New York and London. House music’s appeal is that it retains the basic elements of disco (a driving beat and great vocals) with modern instrumentation. So when you hear music with a mechanical beat with vocals, that is “house music”

One of the most useful things that we own is our cars. From the start of the day to the end, and whatever time or weather, you always have your car to use and get you to places that you want to go to. Most people don’t realize this and all they know is that they could just use their car for as long as it’s running, and when it stops functioning the usual way, they start thinking of just disposing them and getting a new one. Sometimes all we need is to have our cars checked and some of the auto parts replaced for it to function well again. It is also good to have your car checked once in awhile to make sure that all the auto parts are functioning right. Because sometimes just one broken part could lead to more problems, since other parts would start not to function right as well, then it would cost you more to have them all repaired or replaced. And when it seems hopeless you end up buying a new car which would actually cost you even more. So try to pamper your ride once in awhile, when you see that one part is getting worn out, have it repaired or replaced right away.

I miss a lot of places that I go to, but it could sound a little odd to you guys but I also miss my favorite place at home, the bathroom. I don’t know, but I really find it the most perfect place when I need to be alone and just have a serene time. It’s peaceful and quiet and though it’s just inside the house it gives me that sense of being away from everyone. Not that I have a thing for bathroom stuff like the shower, towels, bathroom faucets, or what have you. But perhaps I just really love dipping in a tub filled with warm water. It helps to get me relaxed, most especially when I’m tensed and stressed out. Or whenever I don’t get to sleep right, I just get a good warm bath, read some good book, or listen to music, then I will be relaxed enough that I feel sleepy soon as I get out of the tub. I know I’m not the onbly one who does something like it, I bet there are also a lot of people out there, most especially those who are too busy and don’t get a chance to go out of town to relax.

There are certain types of cars which auto parts are really hard to find. That’s why most car makers have service centers and auto parts franchises all over the world that their clients could easily gain access to just in case they need to purchase either new parts or replacements auto parts for their cars. And this way, the clients are sure that what they get are genuine car parts from the original maker of the car. This also gives the customers confidence that the quality of the replacement parts or new auto parts that they are buying are not being compromised and would work just as perfect as the original parts being replaced. It’s also a good source for those who want to remodel their cars by using their very own automobile design by purchasing individual auto parts just like what you see in the MTV’s pimp my ride by Xzibit.
